Ingredients
- 2 cups long-grain white rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Add the rice to the skillet and stir for 2-3 minutes until it's slightly toasted.
Pour in the chicken broth and add all the seasonings: paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until the rice is tender and the broth is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
