- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup French fried onions (optional for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions until they are soft and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
Add garlic and ground beef to the skillet; cook until the beef is browned.
Stir in cooked rice, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Combine well.
Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish and sprinkle Swiss cheese on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.
If desired, add French fried onions on top for the last 5 minutes of baking. Serve hot.
